If you can't get one of your paintings in a museum by being a good painter, there's always an easier way: hang them there as a prank.
That's what New York painter Mat Benote did recently, hanging a series of his paintings at venerable institutions like the Brooklyn Museum, MoMA, and the Guggenheim.
Art-world snobs complained that this stunt was originally pulled off in 2005 by the brilliant English street artist Banksy, but in fact the stunt was done even funnier (and better) by none other than Tom Green, on his original "Tom Green Show":
And let's not forget ZUG's All-American Pumpkin Prank, in which we did essentially the same thing back in 2002, but with a rotting pumpkin.
Michael Thomas "Tom" Green (born July 30, 1971) is a Canadian actor, rapper, writer, comedian and media personality. He currently hosts the internet talk show Tom Green's House Tonight and the Planet Green game show Go for the Green.
