The premise is simple. Hide a TV camera, set up a shocking or embarrassing stunt, then get some unsuspecting mark to fall for it. The Japanese take this simple formula, and in the grand tradition of their ancestors, take it a step or twelve further.
To honor their over-the-top enthusiasm and total disregard for personal safety, we present the Top 3 Japanese Hidden Camera Stunts of All Time.
1) "The Sauna Sled." Stereotypical evidence indicates that the Japanese have an unquenchable love for cameras as well as a paralyzing fear of being naked in public. These qualities, combined with a booby trapped sauna on a ski slope, make for a stunt that would make a geisha blush.

Does anyone else hope to see Involuntary Naked Tobogganing in the next Olympic Games?
2) "Flash Mobs." You're walking down the street minding your own business, when suddenly an angry mob comes running toward you, screaming. This means one of two things; either you work for AIG, or you have been selected as the target of a mob stunt.
Although flash mob pranks have been pulled many different times in many different nations, it took the Japanese passion for perfection to make this one stand out in the crowd.
In America, there are laws against organizing a mob to throw a businessman up in the air. In Japan, these actions are protected under the Insane Japanese Reality Producer Act of 1993.
3) "Crazy Taxi." When you sit down in the back of a cab, you can never be sure what to expect. Price gouging, circuitous routes, and language barriers are always a cause for concern, but sometimes there are bigger issues to worry about -- like whether your life insurance premiums are paid up.
Helpful hint: If you get into a taxi and the seat belts have been replaced with a five point safety harness, get out and wait for the next one.
Domo arigato!

I don't know why more of these Japanese shows aren't overdubbed in English and brought to America. If it worked for Iron Chef, surely it would work for the show these clips came from, "Happy Videos of Surprising Joy."
The mob video was the funniest for me although the guy Shakespeare-ing himself in the back of the taxi sure was good too.
I was disappointed they didn't get the kid in addition to the adult in the first one.
I thought those people had small dicks. Made no sense to cover something we wouldn't have seen anyway. Made me in the mood for Minute Rice.... excuse me....
You left out the game show where they put young girls heads(still attached) poked up in a plastic box. Whoever stays the longest in the box wins. Then they release the Komodo Dragon in the box. It's a trick because no one wants to get bite by that lizard and risk facial deformaty and or death. Ha haha, those wacky Japanese.
